Yup, as far as I know it is. I think someone said they had a few cars with that head unit in them. Not real sure. I'm gonna be buying an alpine player soon tho, this one clicks over to cd randomly from the radio and tries to eject something, but there's nothing in there hah.

Also got to figure out how to fix the exhaust from hitting the frame. Where it bends up over the rear end on the pass side, it's rubbing the frame. Probably not gonna hurt anything but very annoying.

Thanks for all the kind words guys!! O0

id be interested in taking that radio unit off your hands if you want to part with it, send me a PM if you do/when you do. i love tearing apart electronics. would be interesting to see if i could make it work.

as for that exhaust pipe rubbing, thats an easy fit: either do what voidfinger is going to do or just get a new catback :dancing6:
seriously tho, if you want to upgrade exhaust this would be a good time to do it. if not, check the exhaust hangers to see if they are bent, if they are it could be as simple as unbending them to make it stop rubbing. if i remember correctly, there should be 2 or 3 hangers per side (of the catback), including the one that holds up the exhaust tip.

Must be the catback you're running, my flows were pretty loud at idle and the Bassani is even louder. I rode around with the Bassani dumped for a couple days and i wanted to kill myself, it sounded like a total beast but it was so insanely loud in the car and everything buzzed and vibrated.

the mac's are one of the louder chambered cat backs, but the prochamber kills the sound where as the x or h 's are louder. b/c the extra chamber traps sound.

Pardon me for being a complete noob here but when you guys say dumped exhaust. That means just unbolting the tailpipe section before the rear end ? Or is there an exhaust kit that dumps them? Excuse the ignorance :-[

or you can do the poor-man's version of "dumped" exhaust and do exactly what you said, which is cut off (not exactly unbolt) the exhaust pipe right after the muffler. because my exhaust had to be cut to be shipped, i had it as the poor mans dumps for a little while, check out the pic below. not the best quality, but if you zoom in you can see the exhaust pipe and how its cut at the mufflers.

EDIT: i miss the sound of my car with exhaust, so i think i might go with dumps for a little while (that magnaflow catback seems like it keeps getting more and more distant)

yeah, depending on your setup, it would be loud. with the stock mufflers i would suggest you do this, with aftermarket mufflers i suggest you stay away from dumps if you are noise senitive (if you believe that there is such a thing as too loud, which about 90% of mustang owners swear there is no such thing). personally i think magnaflow mufflers are borderline, right below annoying when you get dumps. flowmasters are downright :puke: when you have dumps on them, or at least i think so (but then again, im with the minority on this one)

Thanks Bro! O0

Yeah, Flowmasters is what I have on there now, I'm thinking I don't want to dump those really. I may just take it in to a shop and have them see if it can be fixed. If not I'll get a new catback. I've got under there and it doesn't look like anything is bent, just no clearance from the frame to exhaust on the pass side, plenty on the drivers.

I would like to get the exhaust welded up and subframes welded up anyway while they are under there. If they can't fix the rattle i may turn em down to see what it's like. If it's too obnoxious, then i can get a new exhaust.
