Hey everyone!
I'm a long time Ford owner, having owned the following: 1994 Thunderbird SC, 1999 Escort ZX2, 2008 Focus, 2010 Escape XLT and 2011 Focus and have always wanted a Mustang. Wife finally conceded and let me buy one after the engine in my 1997 VW Golf GTi VR6 grenaded.
Got a pretty good deal on a 2003 V6 5-spd, Shadow Grey with 125,000 KMs (77,6xx Miles) for $3700 (Canadian).
I haven't started driving it yet since I've got it in the shop for some custom paint finishes I wanted done (black inset on the recessed hood scoop, black pillars, hood and rear upper quarters).
It's similar to one of the CJ Pony guy's rides on Youtube (which gave me the idea): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1DOOkw7EIw
I don't plan on doing much with this car as it's meant to be my daily driver. Once we buy a house I'm going to try and convince the wife to let me get a GT for my real project.
With this car, it will be mostly aesthetic: probably a Cobra front end, Mach 1 lip, spoiler delete, matte black staggered rims, lower it a bit to flesh out the fender gap, and for mechanical a billet shifter, K&N drop in, true dual exhaust, 3.73 gears in the stock 7.5" rear end and a flash tune just to wake it up a bit.
I've also got a modest stereo set up going in, Phoenix Gold amps powering a set of front 6.5" components, and a 350w Pioneer competition 10" sub. The deck is actually going to be a custom built CarPC, so that will be a fun project to tackle.
Can't wait to get 'goin! :headbang:
