New fuel pump?

I tried searching but it isnt working at the moment.

Well my fuel pump took a doo-doo on me and since my stang is my second car i can fix it when i have time. Advanced auto wants 134$ for what I'm assuming is a stock replacement. My car(95GT) right now has long tubes, o/r pipe, and a TB. Not really alot of mods but I would eventually like to get heads , intake and possibly a supercharger. I probably won't try making more than 350-400hp.

Whats the best bang for the buck? What size? Which brand? BBK has a pump for 99$ I think holley and aeromotive do to.

FWIW, most pumps on the market are made by Walbro. BBK, Holley, Trick Flow, etc are all made by Walbro. That being said get yourself a 255lph pump. Summit sells them for 119. but if you google the part number and find it cheaper Summit will beat the price. A 255lph will be enough to handle the 400hp you hope to make someday.

A 255LPH moves 67GPH, and a supercharged car making 400HP at the wheels is making about 460 at the crank at 15% drivetrain loss. a 460HP car needs 207 Pounds of fuel per hour. divide by 6 to get gallons, and you need 34.5 gallons of fuel per hour for a supercharged mustang.

(.45X460=207/6=34.5).45 is how many lbs of fuel per hour the car uses, per HP made. Gasoline weighs 6.216 lbs/gallon, so round to 6.

I would run the 255, as you defintitely do not wanna run a supercharged car low on fuel pressure. the car has a fuel return, so the extra flow is not going to hurt anything.



and like stated above, get the cheapest priced one, as they are all made by Walbro, more or less.

No...you don't really need one. Are you getting tuned??

If so, your tuner can adjust fuel pressure with the chip.

cant do that with a 95, it does not have the returnless fuel system. Buy a regulator, it will help later on.
