New gauges

I went with Autometer c2, I have cobra white face cluster with led lights, they shine blue so these gauges pretty much match up. The auto meter gauges were a lot brighter, and hooking them into my dimmer switch made the dash lights dim at the same time. I corrected the issue with an adjustable resistor.

How was the wiring part of the swap? Did things fall into place or was it spaghetti?

Wiring wasn’t bad, but I went to school for electronics many years ago. Basically it’s running 3 wires thru the firewall, the rest is inside the dash. A few grounds and a couple power wires. I tapped into the dimmer switch power wire for the lighting 12v, in addition I wired an adjustable resistor inline to dim the lights even more. For the gauge power I used an add a circuit in the fuse box. All the wiring tie wrapped and hidden.

That’s how the cockpit should look! Shifter knob even ties in nicely. Heh... Wanna pop over and do same on my ‘95? Lol! I’m hoping my local stereo guy can tie my new head unit into the dinner switch as well. The Alpine head unit is cool in blue but just TOO BRIGHT!!!
