Hey guys, stubbled on this forum looking for some info and figured i'd make an account. I have a 99 GT which has taken quite a turn since owning it. Sold my 91 Galant vr4 for it and pretty much hit the ground running. It had a bad pinion bearing when I bought it so I went ahead and replaced the rear gears with 3.73's while I had the rear end taken apart. noticed a bit more pep in it's step so then came doing some stuff to the engine. Steeda udps and a BBK intake were the first things to go on. took it to the track an run a 15 flat? Back to the drawing board, I get a accufab plenum, pypes o/r xpipe, and a b&m ripper shifter. Back to the track I go and run a 14.7... once again frustrated, I go back home and start looking for my next move.. So I buy MHS stage 2 PI cams. while I wait for them to arrive I start tearing into the motor only to find out I have NPI heads. Pull the intake manifold off and realize it's just an NPI motor thrown in a 99. Keep in mind the intake manifold threw me off cause it had an aluminum crossover so I never really second guessed it until I pulled it all apart. So next step was to get PI heads and intake, so found a blown motor on craigslist that I was able to salvage the heads, intake, and coolant tube off of. So right now i'm at the point of finishing up the whole swap and firing the car up for the first time in just over 2 months (had to wait 7 weeks for the cams to arrive)...

Here's some pics of the car when I first bought it to where it is now

Dude I was PISSED when I first found out haha. Ah well, the compression bump more than made up for the whole thing haha. That and the s2 cams should make for a fun car :)

I wouldn't paint your scoop black unless you took off the vinyl. I think it would be too much.

Looks good though, similar taste here haha!

That's why I didn't haha. Actually painted the hood before I bought the scoop, so I decided to go with the body color otherwise I would have gone the same route as you

Let me see what I have for roof pics. The car was repainted and there was a lot of flaws in the roof from bubbles to debris. So When I was cleaning it up I opted to go with the black since I'd seen a white sn95 and a red Mach1 and just instantly loved the look
