Hello, my name is Jeremy. I've been on this site for months looking at everyone's builds and other information on SN95's and finally decided that it was time I get myself one. This weekend I will be looking at and hopefully driving home a blue 96' cobra. I've worked on cars before but this will be my first build. The guy I'm purchasing it from seems like a good guy and seems like he knows what he's doing, but don't they all. He says the car has new vented rotors and brakes, Griggs racing lower a-arms, Griggs racing GR40 tubular K member, 18" Roto Wheels with INVO tires. Stage 1 Mcleod clutch, new steel drive shaft and a couple other cosmetic things. It all seems like a good start, not sure what direction I'll take it but I have tons of ideas. I'd like to get some input about what to watch out for this weekend before I make my purchase and feel free to post any ideas on some first mods. I plan on doing some small things this year, mostly cosmetic simply because I'd like to enjoy and get a feel for my new ride before I tear it apart and truly make it my own.

Welcome to the site and good luck with the purchase! Things to look out for would be the general items: oil leaks, does it run, rust, etc. I don't think there's anything specific you should be worried about but I'm not too knowledgeable about the mod motor cars. Someone will chime in, I'm sure.

So I ran the "carFax", Lol probably pointless when you are buying a car old enough to drink, but the odometer is currently reading 104k, in 2008 it was reported 88k, in 2010 122k (a huge jump in my opinion) in 2013 reported 66k, 2016 back up to over 80K. I've seen some of the guys on here have had odometer that stopped working... how concerned should I be? I was thinking about having the engine rebuilt in the future anyhow but that could be 5 or 15 years down the road, who knows.:sad5:

So the blue Cobra in the pictures above is now in my garage. There were some good surprise's and some unfortunate ones... but honestly the moment we walked up to it at the car wash I knew there was no way I was going home with out it (probably not the best mindset to have when you're buying a car). So lets start with the good; Long tube headers, SFC's, although its not pretty there is a short throw shifter with a longer handle and knob, and a new mcleod clutch. It drove amazing... and finally it was originally a Mystic! This made me happy because i did just vote for the mystic for this months RoTM. Now there were some negatives, but obviously it was nothing to deter me, first off the body isn't perfect but thats as expected whatever, but two things that cut a little deeper... no SVT certificate and the signatures were not on the valve cover. The VIN checks out that its really a cobra, but man idk why... I really wanted the sigs. Overall, I'm ecstatic, I love it, and I'm pumped to be a SN95 owner;)
