CRT-Performance had a track rental today and I got 16 runs in. I had new M/T DRs put on right in the beginning so the tires were finicky. I was used to worn out M/Ts. Combo is TW heads, 2031 cam, cobra intake, 70mm TB, 75mm MAF, 24# inj., Long Tubes, O/R H-Pipe, Flowmasters, 3.73s, underdrive pulleys and I think thats it. Since I planned on spraying I put the plugs at .035 (Autolite 3924s) and took the timing down to 10* base (normally 18). I had 93 in the tank like I normally run. Previous best on motor was 12.82@108 (also ran that at 106mph). Today on motor I was running 13.0s @ 105. On a 35 shot I picked up no ET but gained 2 mph. Threw a 50 shot on and 0.1 gain in ET and 2 more MPH. Threw a 75 shot on and later a 100 shot and went from 110 to 112 mph. Best ET was 12.63@112. 1/8th mile times were 8.2@86-88. 60' times all sucked due me trying to launch with new tires and nitrous. Other were complaining the track felt slick too. My 60's were the 1.8-1.9 range (previous best was 1.72). My method of launching was rev to 4000 and drop the clutch and mash the gas when the last yellow lit. Im running an NX wet kit with a window switch (3000-6000) and a WOT switch. If I get my 60' times down what do you think I could drop my ET to? Do you think the timing is a little conservative? The bottle pressure was never very high. I wanna say it was around 900 psi. I didnt have the heater hooked up yet since I was rushing last night and this morning to get everything together for the track.

Oh yeah, I think Im addicted to nitrous now.

My biggest problem was probably me not launching as hard as I do off the bottle. I was also roasting the tires pretty good on the launch. I was dropping pressure in the tires after passes but did want to go too low. I stopped at 14 psi. Im gonna wait until I get some 31 spline axles before I try leaving off the bottle. I also shifted it pretty easy so I didnt miss any shifts. Even though I have a window switch I was still cautious. I had a 7mph increase with the 100 shot and it went down the track pretty smooth (it was screaming actually) so the powers there. My bottle pressure wasnt very high either.

112mph trap should net you somewhere around a 12.1 - 12.4 depending on 60ft., shifts, etc. I bet once everything is sorted out and conditions are right, your car will trap around 115 - 118mph which is good for high 11's.
