Hey guys, I'm thinking of going with the 2vplate kit from american muscle and I am totally new to the nitrous relm but I need more power nothing bigger than a 100 shot. So I am wondering is there anything I need to do to prepare my engine for the kit or what? Thanks ! :dancing6:

Make sure your fuel pump can handle it. Run some colder spark plugs. Might want to get your car tuned to be used with nitrous.

with a 100 shot you want to run NG-TR6's or a spark plug similar to that. you can order plugs straight from Zex that are pre-gapped and in the heat range you want. With the small 100 shot, your stock pump will support it but i would upgrade to either a external add-on pump or to a 255lph in-tank pump. I would also order a window switch so that you don't blow the motor by sparying too high or too low. And i recommend always getting a tune, more specifically a dynotune, with any poweradder...

Shew..thats been beaten to death. 90% of car forum pages are dedicated to supercharger vs. turbo vs. nitrous arguments, haha.

If you are gonna use the juice even once a month, the blower wins in the end, like the tortoise and the hare, lol

Yep, colder plug and a dyno-tune for sure. Your stock pump should be fine with a 100 shot. If you plan on ever going higher, than a 255 inline pump should suffice. If you plan on spraying from a dig, then a window switch is a must. If you live in a colder state (like I do), than a bottle heater is a must also. With the NX kit, I went from 294rwhp to 389rwhp on my 96' cobra with a 100 shot. S/C vs. nitrous????? Why not both :coolsmiley:. Cost's me $50 to fill a 10lb bottle, so if you think you'll be spraying a lot, then save up for that s/c.

Man, I'm getting ripped off up here :nonono:. I've asked/checked around and $5 seems to be the best we can do here. I'll have to do some research and find out why it costs so much more. $3 compared to $5 is quite a big gap IMO.

Its a lot cheaper if you buy your own nitrous refill station. They are around 1200 bucks.
