No, the GTs all stayed with the 4R70W. The best stock TC is the one from an 04 Marauder/Mach 1. The 03 would be the next choice. All other factory 11.25 inch TCs were the same whether they were in a Mustang GT, Crown Vic PI and Sports or Mark 8s. The Mark 8 was the first one to ever receive this TC in 93. 96 was the first year for the Mustang GT. 98 was the first year for the CVs. Installing a Marauder TC in place of your stock 11.25 will not gain you any additional stall. All 11.25 inch TCs are have the same K factor (rpm stall speed), the K factor for an 11.25 is 155. So there is really no benefit in swapping to a Marauder TC unless you are wanting the extra reliability they have. This is due to the better Torrington bearings and design with the furnace brazed fins and the replacement of the plastic thrust washer for a real thrust bearing. Also stall is dependent on the amount of torque your engine puts out. The stock 11.25 will stall at 2400 in a stock GT. Using the formula for K factor and taking that same TC and putting it in another GT that is making 150 more ft tq and it will stall at its 2800 - 3000 rpm. I know at some point you will reach the limit of the TC. I wouldn't bet on it ever reaching 3000 rpms without some sort of failure.

so if you have it on a 4.6 and it is around 2400 and you put a 5.4 2v in and it makes more tq then it will go up? to around 2650? not bad.

For the gain in stall speed you get, it's not worth goofing around trying to hunt down factory unit's. But yeah, that's why converter's are rated at like 3000-3400 rpm stall, etc.

There won't be any gain in stall speed. He already has a 11.25. What ever he is stalling at now will be the same with the Marauder TC.

yea lol , its like we are talking about the same thing on 3 different threads. We seriously need to start a tread about TC's and stop hijacking lol.

Maybe one of the mods can start a new post, then cut and paste from the other threads. The info is still good and still goes along with the thread though. This was the whole reason for me coming to this forum. I received a lot of emails and phone calls over this subject along with people wanting to either upgrade their AODE to a 4R70W or upgrade their 4R70W. I also receive a lot of mail orders for programming, a Trans or TC for these swaps besides those the show up at my place. A lot of them are totally confused as to what they need to do or need in general because of the conflicting info put out on the forums. So I've been asking them what forums and this one was came up several times. And they asked me to come hear to help out with tech stuff like this. I've been doing this type of stuff for a long time.

Cool, now if the mods can copy some of this over there that would be great. I'll post some stuff when I get a chance. I need to get some tuning done right now.
