I will be installing a new water pump, is it necessary to put gasket sealer with the gasket or should i just use the gasket that came with the water pump?

as long as you can get a good seal with the gaskets there should be no reason to use any sealer, you may want to consider a spray on gasket tack to make installation easier but other than that just make sure your surface is clean and you shouldn't have an issue as long as its a decent quality gasket

in my experience the only time it is needed is if it is manufacture recommended with replacement.... or if your new pump has installation instructions that advise the use

i put a bead of sylicone on and spread it all around the gasket with my thumb when I did mine, hasn't leaked yet, and it's what my engine builder recommended...good luck

I always use Hylomar on gaskets where water is involved, as above, if you dont use any it can be trouble.
