I was pullin' for you to crack 14s this time around, but it looks like your getting close and more consistant. Could the 60' times be due to track prep? What were other people saying about how their cars were hooking? Remind us of all your mods please? Thanks for the update.

PI intake, 4.10s, UDP, CAI, O/R H pipe, Flowmasters, Pro 5.0 Shifter, ET streets, and skinnies up front.

And personally I think that I just dont have the power to utilize the Slicks. Also I am on stock suspension, so once I get uppers and lowers, and SFC I should be cutting 1.8s easily. I dont really know about the track prep, but I think it could be, because it rained when I got there, and they then dried it.

And yes I have the corrected numbers in the 13s

Try the street tires and see what it runs. I think the slicks are doing their job off the line, but slowing you on the big end.

I do a wierd thing, but 20psi in the stock goodyear 245-45-17's, rev up to 3-3500 rpms, hold the gas and pop the clutch to hop out of the hole and floor it right after the hop. I've cut a 2.04 60ft doing that odd-ball crap. LOL

2.04 60ft at the hill

how would big and littles slow him down? ???

they are far more lighter than the stock wheels.

You tell me how a car making 200-210hp to the tire @ 3550lbs can be slowed down on the top end by big arse slicks with hardly any air in them. LOL Go push a riding mower in -n- with the tires aired up, and then let the air down real low like you do with slicks and try to push it. In lamen terms, more rolling resistance.

Maybe this comparison can help - I raced a local at Beech Bend on www.tennesspeed.net day. He had 4:10's, built axel, and dumping at 5k out of the hole (he had CAI, and maybe some other junk). But me on stock Goodyear 245's with a 3:73 gear and he pulled me off the line, beat me by a 10th in the 1/8, and a reeled him in by a 10th in the 1/4.

He had a new edge and me in my 97. Pretty equally modded minus my BBK shorty headers, aluminum DS, and aluminum block. His trunk was hoed out - no carpet, no jack, no spare, no backseat, etc. I still have full trunk and interior - removed spare tire and jack in mine. I was on 3/4 tank of gas.

But, I'm no expert. Let him run on street tires and see what #'s he runs. Provided he isn't spoiled from 5k launches on slicks and can get the car off the line on radials..... :) :p

well i have easily 60 track passes this summer on nitto 555s. I was running 15.8s and an occasional 15.7 with those and 2.1 60' times. Just by putting these wheels on with the same 60' times i dropped 3 tenths. Let me tell you, That the Skinny fronts caused most of that. Less friction and less rolling wieght. And BTW I dynoed at 192.5 HP and 230 TQ on an AWD dyno at 90 degrees at 5400 ft. I am not going to the track this week because I have the flu, and becuase i have to get longer wheel studs to run the slicks.

Well, I zip my mouth! The 3 tenths says the slicks aren't slowing you down. I know they do help through the first 1/8 mile for sure, but wasn't sure on the big end of the 1/4.

you must be dealing with track prep or wheel hop/suspension issues. i pull consistent 2.0ish 60's on my DR's, stock suspension and pro kit springs. if i remember correctly, that was launching around 2500-3000rpm... the most i might have tried would have been 3500 :dunno:

nice times either way O0

I would try 12 psi and a 5200-5500 dump if you think the track is decent. These little 2v's love to be revved off the line, you weren't bogging were you? I thought you said before you would go to 5k and dump it?
