Hi my name is Kathleen Stewart I'm an older for 27 years of a 1998 Ford mustang convertible and recently got myself a 2004 mustang convertible and mistakenly tried to change the color of the bulbs in my instrument cluster putting in the sixth bulb the car stopped running, uh-oh, since then it's been over a month since I've been able to drive my car I have questions that need to be answered I don't know what to do I can't afford to have anyone come here because I can't obviously drive My car anywhere she fixed my car I'm totally disabled and I can't afford on social insecurity to pay somebody to do it it's somebody tell me how to get around the anti-theft system

I don't think it's a good idea for members to advise an unknown person on bypassing the anti-theft system of an unknown car. That's just me.
Thank you for your input you don't have to give me advice thank you anyway I didn't ask for your input if you're not willing to help me that's fine I'm here for anybody else that can help me thank you!!

I've already read up on bypassing the problem is is none of it is working I need help so I can start my car I was changing lights for my instrument cluster which threw on the anti-theft system and I haven't been able to drive my car and over a month I need to drive my car I'm totally disabled and I have places I have to be doctors and shopping things of that nature I was told I could come here and speak for people that was a owner of my 98 mustang for 27 years bought it from the showroom floor tired of people hitting my mustang after 27 years I got rid of my car fixed it from front to back myself she was beautiful I can send you a picture I got this 2004 never learned myself after the '80s how to use or work on cars with computers so I am really stuck here can anyone help me ???
I now drive a 2004 mustang which has the anti-theft system which I know nothing about when I was a mechanic I stopped being a mechanic before they started computers I am 61 years old and I need help trying to bypass the end of theft system haven't been able to drive my car and over a month I bought the top down I have a Windows laptop I bought a different PCM and a different cluster I'm having problem I can't figure it out i need someone's help please

This isn't a bad reaction but lets dig deeper into the issue.

I have tried everything the Ford tells you to do with the key with the battery with the fuses everything I have isn't working condition no wires and nothing's been blown all the fuses work everything works fine there's nothing on the OBD2 reader that says there's anything wrong with my car I did change the cluster and I changed the PCM because I believe I blew them both out how can I get this done without costing me an arm and a leg please because I make less than $1,000 a month on social insecurity
I had a guy come out yesterday that's a locksmith he put his topped on to my OBD2 and he couldn't read the cluster the original cluster from my car that I had left in there that's where you're supposed to start and he says if he can't read that there's nothing he can do
My phone doesn't understand me they put his topdon system on my OBD2 and could not read my cluster he said that's where it starts from he said there's nothing more he could do for me so I'm pretty much screwed right now I really need help who's someone help me

I make less than $1,000 a month I don't think I can afford something like that I'd like to do something on my own I got my mom's computer with Windows in it I downloaded for scan I got a topdon OBD2 scanner tool that should be able to help me but I don't know where to start or finish with it because I have dementia I just can't afford some of these prices if people have and nobody let you make a payment plan and I can't find anybody around that can do this what can I do

The thing you are not understanding is it takes a diagnostic equipment to complete this task

Yep....removing the dash cluster or just simply breathing messes with the pats system.....damn that pats theft BS!
@RAU03MACH nailed it saying the dealer should be able correct/diagnose the problem. Another option is to seek out an SCT dyno tuner guy who can sell you a handheld tuner thats married to your car and can turn off the pats.

When you click the key forward to the on position the pats light should illuminate then go off. If not your pcm and cluster are not communicating.
