Search..feature..please...someone..*Dying groan*.

People can ask anything here, even if its been covered 9000000 times.
If everyone just used the search feature then nothing would ever get posted and the forum would die a slow death... kind of like Modular Depot, did because all the people were grumpy know it alls who kept badgering noobs with SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST BS.
If the veterans don't feel like answering a question they just ignore it, by giving attitude to a potential long term member they may just say F this place i'll go somewhere nicer.....

The stock camshaft lift for 96-98's (NPI) are 473/.473-inch lift and PI 99-04's are .505/.534-inch lift. PI heads flow a lot more than NPI (stock) and NPI intake has short length runners where the PI intakes have long length runners. Add them all up and you get your ~35hp PI over NPI.

also PI's have smaller combustion chambers which bump up compression to about 10.5:1
PI stuff has a rectangular shaped intake ports and NPI has kind of tear dropped shaped ports.

The last two responses...

Yes, we here are ready to answer the same questions over and over... and we get better at our answers each time for our SN-95s. This is not that sort of site where we pump up our chests cause the question was asked before. And I hate when we state political responses that make us hate each other.

From my experience, NPI has "tear drop" ports compared to "squared" "PI" ports... PI ports have better air flow. Also, the manifold has different intake runner lengths again resulting in better air flow. Out side of that, I'm sure someone else can clime in to add to the differences. PI had 35 extra hp than NPI '98s and 45 more hp over the NPI '95 through '97s...

Not a real problem correcting this.

basically, a "PI Swap" is required for anyone with a mod motor who wants to make some serious hp down the road
