Seriously, how long can these 5.0s go for? I'm about to hit 209,000 miles on my 94. Had the tranny replaced last year, perhaps engine this winter? I could probably drive it another Chicago winter

I have some suspension mods, but mostly stock underhood- what would you guys do?

I'd like to put in a 351 and start building one with a nice top end kit, but I figure I could just spend the money on other stuff- coilover kit, tubular front suspension, subframes and other bs.

Actually, went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change today and they said I have a bad trans leak. Are there any products/parts I can throw on this stupid AODE to help it last longer or make it stronger/faster?

My 95 is approaching 205,000 and just has a leaking oil pan, tuning issues (typical 94/95 stuff) and I rebuilt the trans and put a new clutch in, and is daily driven as well.

AODE's won't last all that long... I have a friend that went through 3 with just a cam and exhaust on his car before he broke down and bought a used 3550... that tranny has lasted him forever.

i wouldnt believe anything anyone at Jiffy Lube says.

Plus, Jiffy Lube was the ones on the news for a nationwide scandal for charging for and not doing tranny flushes. Jiffy Lube is the last place id take transmission advice from.

id take the car to someone respectable, not even mention what the Jiffy Lube guy said was wrong, and see if a real mechanic tells you the same thing.

I have 168 on the clock. I also went a year and a half without a odometer and my friend before me said it went out 6 months prior. So i would think somwhere around 185 or so on mine. Mine is still going strong. Just normal stuff.

200k+ and it will burn the back tire off all day long and pulled my old mans shelby GT (not 500) at the track with stock gears.
