i am having a very hard time finding somewhere that i can get my snake inspected. i dont know what to do and i have until the end of the month to get it done. :BangHead:

is there any possible solutions to get it to pass or some kind of fuel additive to change the emissions or w.e.?

or am i stuck with the option to get somebody to do me that favor. ive asked around but, of coarse they say no. its basicly like a 16 yr old trying to buy some smokes.

i feel like i ran into a dead end with this one any input is always appreciated thnks

BTW its a bbk H pipe no cats and flowmasters. stock exh manifolds.

If you have the MIL eliminators to shut off the check engine code then your in business. Then you just need to find a shop that will "look away" from the visual inspection. As in my case i didnt take the time to find that shop. I had to borrow a catted mid pipe for my inspection. I'm not sure what your setup is but with my LT's it was almost impossible to find a catted mid. I found one though. But hopefully you can find a shop willing to pass without cats. First priority is to get the CEL light off. (unless you already have) then go from there

Massachusetts just adopted the inspection process and from my understandings the computer side of it as well from NY. I do inspections here and As long as its a visual thing, you can try to find someone to slide it. If you have a MIL or Check Engine Light on, you will fail and its out of the inspectors hands.

i do not have MIL eliminators but i would purchase them if it helps. i also saw this thread on another site to make your own. has anyone ever tried this?

http://newyorkmustangs.com/forums/how-to-make-mil-eliminators-your-mustang-t4015.html

someone my friend knows was saying that if i have someone clear the code and i wait 50miles AND THEN go get an inspection that it will likely pass. does this make sense to anyone, bc it doesnt to me.

my setup is stock manifolds, BBK o/r H and flowmasters. i once saw the factory midpipe from a 96 cobra for sale on craigslist for like 90 bucks i new i should have picked it up. :BangHead:

im guessing the stock one would just bolt right back up, right?

thanks for the input guys

DO YOU HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON???

the reason he said clear the faults and drive for 50 miles its so that the monitors can reset and the pcm/ecu monitors will be in "ready" status.

Get ready to buy a catted mid-pipe. Long live TN, land of straight pipes, rednecks, kegs, and guns.

The easy fix is to install a catted H-Pipe. Even if you pass the sniff test and the CEL is off, you will never pass a visual. It is damn near impossable to find anybody to look the other way anymore. The fines for them are way to steep.

Like I said i do inspections, and I use best judgement but if let something go for a friend they get nailed and I get nailed with it... I lose my license, the station I did the inspection at loses license and fines of 10,000 depending on the offense... yikes

This is why i just run a Catted Mid Pipe with High flow cats. The gain is minimal in power and it's not worth the time to switch it out.

BBK sells a H-pipe with cats for around $300.. If you can find a stock midpipe, that would more than likely be a cheaper alternative.
Craigslist is probably your best prayer for now... maybe MPSautosalvage would have something like that....

Clearing the codes will not solve the problem, they will return. I`ve heard that a good tuner can fool the computer into thinking that everything is ok. Just turning of the o2 sensors wont work. As for visual, where in NY are you? I know a guy, I can ask him but I won`t ask him to risk his licence. The best option in NY is to go catted X or H, a little more expensive, but well worth not being aggrevated over it.

You could weld up the shells of the cat around your pipe so it looks good...... If your stuck on keeping a catless mid pipe. If not, then I would just buy a catted mid. 300 dollars sucks, but it sure as hell beats swapping it every year.
