I broke one of my rear O2 sensors while removing the stock midpipe to install an o/r xpipe.
Question is do you need a good functioning O2 sensor for the MIL elmin to work correctly?

what kind of car?
94/95's only have 1 per side and they're before the cats. sooo no mil elim. is needed. but you DO need the o2's installed.
96-98's have 2 per side. For the mil elim. to work correctly it would need to be installed inline with a working o2 sensor.

It's a 97 GT, I broke the right rear. I guess I'll get a new O2 sensor and try that. Thanks for the reply.

Well, it does have to be a whole or complete sensor. I've used ones that are bad since the MIL eliminator produces the voltage to fool the CPU and have not had any CEL problems.

Actually if you have a tune or handheld tuner (like sct xcal) you can turn the rear 02 sensors off, and remove them completely, nad insert 02 bung plugs. That is what I did to my 04 cobra when I put a prochamber on it.

MILs cause the car to run rich... they send generic information to the computer and more often then not it makes the computer run slightly rich.

I suggest just snagging some new o2s, unless you dont have cats, if you have an o/r pipe i agree with pp_puncher.
