My cats are bad on my 98 gt. It is stock for the most part.If I purchased an off-road x pipe and used Mustang SVE MIL Eliminators will I be able to pass inspection? I am in Houston.

Correct. Some states just plug a scanner into the computer, however most do a visual.

I used to have these covers from cats or heat shields around my h pipe and it would still pass emissions lol

I sure hope so bc I do not want to put my stock H back on in this cold weather! Fawk low 20s in AZ lol. I have emissions this month.
In Dallas the inspectors put a snorkel in the exhaust pipe if the car is older than a 98, they'll know if it has cats or not by what the snorkel reads.

Even with the sniffer my car passed emissions. But yea shit happens . I just put cats on usually but emissions are gone next year where I live

LOL I live in an emission restricted county and when i went to get my inspection done, the guy was looking at it, of course I was waiting in the waiting room. I hear it start up, then the guy revs it ( in my head I was like sh*t just failed), but no he took it haled a$$ and did the break test then proceeds to park it in the shop, he leaves the car on (im sure the whole place smelled like gocart..), He plugged it into the computer, I passed (mil eliminators), He did a visual and snorkle test and I STILL PASSED. Mean while I am in the waiting room praying to jebuz that I passed, an when i saw them peel my old sticker off and put my new one on it was the best feeling ever.
Cliff notes: I passed the snorkle, visual and computer test in a emissions regualted county with a off road h pipe.
