Ha thanks now i feel a lil dumber..
I have not had a chance to mess with this since I brought it up. Was going to do it today but my usual digestive problems flaired up and now I am just hoping it calms down tomorrow. It occurred to me that a quick/easy way to check if I am getting un-metered air in through there would be just to slap a piece of tape over the breather hole and see if the idle changes as I am pretty sure its still the standard PCV valve back there. Is this a bad idea?
so run it with no valve? Why would I do that?
what would be the difference between a breather like that or one on the valve covers? I don't have any problem with smoking.
I would have thought then that plugging the whole would have resulted in a lower idle then? I didn't think the set up he described would be any different then mine netting un-metered air into the motor and was just wanting to make sure.Again... When you put breathers on the valve covers (or even his setup) but leave the pcv valve in place... You create a unmetered air leak.
