very simple, unbolt it and remove the huge tube thing with it. Then just buy the coolant hose that goes from the water pump to the heater core line. Don't forget to replace the oil filter, the next time u buy one you can get the larger GT filter. Done.

the hoses are re-routed from the vortech install so thats not an issue.

do i need to get a different part where the oil filter screws onto?

nope, it screws right onto the block once you remove the oil cooler.

how does that black part come off? un-bolt where the oil filter screws onto then it will just slide off?

by black part do you mean oil cooler? If so, you'll notice the part you normally screw your filter onto has a hex head, grab it with a wrench and it will unscrew the cooler from the block. It will leave you with the normal fitting for an oil filter just like all the other stangs.

all 5.0 cobras have coolers, so they run the smaller oil filters unlike gt's that use the larger oil filter

Yeah don't install the Cobra oil cooler, imo it's not worth it. If you want one go with the ones like the a/c Cobras have :pimp2:

I have this metal tube that i think is an oil cooler on my gt. it goes and mounts infront of the radiator.

That could be for the power steering.

These two black tubes that go from up around the tstat housing down over the waterpump to the oil filter area is what the stock cobra oil cooler uses to run coolant through it, this is how mine looked before i took it off.
