For a long time now, for some reason my oil filter has been hitting my k-member. Just to change the filter i have to hit the filter with a hammer a bend it a little to stop from hitting k-member just so i can get it on.

.... well now it hits and cracks my oil filter and leaks hard....WTF i am supposed to do.?!?!?

I was thinking a Oil Filter Relocation Kit would fix the issue..... Does anyone know where i can get a Oil Filter Relocation Kit? I know Maximum Motorsports sells one but its $200...anyone know of a less expensive one?

just searched Modularfords like crazy and discovered that this is a common issue and people just relocated the filter. One guy used a $40 Summitracing.com Relocation kit.

...any input?

More searching revealed that the FL-757 oil filter is 1 inch shorter than the FL-820S. I also read that the Mobil 1 oil filter is also alot shorter than the FL-820s

....again, can anyone confirm?

Isn't this just a motor mound issue? Are they getting weak and allowing the motor to move to much? :coolsmiley:

thats what i thought....but even when the car is off i cant get the filter on the car because its such a tight fit. I acually have to hit it with a hammer to make it fit.

I got the MM kit.

i really dont understand How MM can charge $200 for 2 metal plates and some Lines.

I Think i am gonna make my own custom set up using the FRPP kit and then buying Braid line and AN fittings from Jegs :afro:

100 for the kit, and how much for the braided lines.
they're nice lines, you cut to fit and put on the compression fittings.
if the jegs stuff is close to 100 bucks, you might as well MM it. you know they're stuff is complete. :coolsmiley:

Please :rolleyes2: L&S Automotive charges more than 200 bucsks for a oil seperator, and its just a can ( filter ) some clamps and a short hose or two...........but it WORKS so what ya gonna do :dunno:

the FRPP kit is $80. I have Braided Line to use so al i would need to get is some AN Fitting.

Someone on Modular Fords Used this $35 kit from Summit and it works fine..... Good thing to know if anyone is on a budget.

i would do the relocation

...but, if your motor mounts are crap then your engine would not be sitting where its supposed to, and that could be the cause of your problem.

going to the Parts store right now.

i found out that a Early Honda oil filter fits our cars. The FL-757 is a motorcraft filter to fit Honda Preludes.

i am going to the auto parts store with my camera to take pics comparing the size of the FL-820s, Mobil-1, K&N, and the Honda Filter
