Oil pan gasket?

has anyone ever changed the oil pan gasket on a 94 GT without pulling the motor or dropping the k-member? would taking the motor mounts loose and jacking the motor as high up as it will go against the firewall give you enough room?

i have done it that way with an aftermarket k member but i doubt it can be done with a stock one.

I haven't done it but Its been done. I'm sure its a real pita tho getting it lined up.

It would be quite a task to change it out with a stock k-member. Perhaps you could pull the engine out, and put fresh gaskets on it
while it's there.... just a thought.

well i just had the motor out rebuilding it and for some reason the oil pan is leaking on the backside up against the tranny, i really dont want to pull it again just for an oil pan gasket

you sure its the oil pan and not the rear main seal?

I have done it in the front end of the mustang.

I would just drop the K-Member. I've dropped the K-Member in 45 minutes as long as the springs cooperate..

yea i tried the rear main seal but it didnt help! It only leaks when i am on a hill or going up a incline to where the oil gets to that spot! i always know it cause it falls right on top of the exhaust

Have you checked the back of your valve covers? I have seen oil leaks at the back of the V/C's which looked like oil pan or rear main seal leaks because of the oil running down the backside of the block. Sometimes it is hard to diagnose without cleaning everything really well and checking it routinely.

sounds like a stupid question, but just asking... you sure all of the bolts are tight? sometimes bolts can work themselves loose
with the heat cycles.. I would double check everything just to eliminate that from your possible problems.
