First off i have a 1996 Mustang convertible 4.6 V8 with the tremec T45 transmission, I just bought this car this past weekend and is my first stang since my teen years which was many years ago, i have a few questions i would appreciate any help with. First i want to put a new clutch in it as it is the factory clutch and i wanna start fresh, I am not planning on beating the crap out of this and it will be a daily driver in the summer and stored in the winter. Here are a list of questions i have.......

1. what kind of clutch should i get(looking for something that will hold up) Also a good place to buy it
2. I want to do some simple mods for better performance(below is a list of mods already done)-Looking for decent gas mileage
3. I wanna tune her up what spark plugs and wires should i use?
4. The Driver seat control is shot where can i find one reasonable(used preferred)
5. I would love to add some Chrome to the motor are their kits available for these motors.
6. Any other advice or mods i can do for a nice smooth ride?

All advice and opinions welcome, I am recently retired due to an on the job accident and this is what i am gonna be using to help pass the time...Thanks in advance.....Paul

If you want a little more bite go with a FRPP King Cobra.

2. I want to do some simple mods for better performance(below is a list of mods already done)-Looking for decent gas mileage

What do you have done now?

3. I wanna tune her up what spark plugs and wires should i use?

Most of the time stock plugs are fine and FRPP wires
.
4. The Driver seat control is shot where can i find one reasonable(used preferred)

Try a salvage yard.

5. I would love to add some Chrome to the motor are their kits available for these motors.

Check Summit or Jegs.

6. Any other advice or mods i can do for a nice smooth ride?

How many miles are on the car now?

I hope some of that is helpful and if you could fill in the blanks we could come up with some more suggestions..

oops Here is my list of what's done

Modifications:
UPR Blu Thunder Shifter with MRT Ball Handle and High Temperature Silicone gaskets, where shifter meets transmission and the shifter meets the handle. Cuts down substantially on heat and noise transfer.

UPR O/R X pipe was coated with high temperature ceramic paint before install, has MIL eliminators but seem to have stopped working as it has recently started throwing the rear 02 sensor code (though has no effect on driving). Car comes with factory H pipe.

Magnaflow Catback, full stainless from flow tubes to tips.

Ford Factory 03/04 Cobra wheels, 255/45/17 Kuhmo Ecsta tires on the front and 315/35/17 Nitto 555R Drag radials on the rear. Tires have less than 1500 miles on them.

Intake was replaced with the newer version non-PI but aluminum coolant cross-over, Ford Intake. New Spark Plugs were installed at this time as well.

Replaced Original Tan Carpet with Black ACC brand carpet with jute backing.

Convertible Top was Professionally Replaced in 2004.

Ok, for one, I would use nothing else but a centerforce dual friction clutch. Lasts for a long time, and does not have the uber stiff clutch pedal feel of the FRPP units. It will also hold well over 300 rwhp.

Small mods, JLT cai. Underdrive pullies from BBK, do a PI head swap or just put a PI intake on and a set of PI camshafts.

The seat track you can get from me :), I am parting a car out currently and it works well.

I would also put a 3.73 gear in it. Dayton Performance sells and can install all the parts for you. Also mail order them to you.

I would do a tune, that will turn off your O2 sensors and the light. DP can also mail order you a tuner or you can go to Dayton and get it done, reasonably priced.
