ya, try replacing your thermostat with a 180* . If that fails, put in a manual fan switch.. the stock fan is plenty enough for under 400 hp. .. you can go with a dual fan setup from summit... ect. but you would have to eather wire it into your fan box by the overflow, or use a probe that goes through your radiator.

make sure the fan is coming on could have failed. Also verify the radiator cap could be another low cost possible problem.

thanks for all the ansewers. i have a milidon 180 t stat that is not very old. the car has about 140k on it . the water pump isnt leaking, so i figured its good. the thing is it all started right after i got on it just alittle from a red light. so i have no idea what. no water in the oil and no tailpipe smoke, and the fan does come on. just semms like it takes ahile for it to come on. so im still lost.

where are you located at?

if its generally hot then look for random heat spikes. kinda sounds like you have an air pockets in the system if your thermostat is rather new and its not in backwards, and water pumps not leaking and radiator cap isnt leaking. then you must have a little air in there which will let it get real hot maybe come down a little.

ya, the "high" setting on the stock fan doesn't kick on until around 210*, there is a low fan setting too, and it sounds like thats not coming on. Mine doesn't come on, im not sure why. Thats why i put in a manual fan switch, so i can turn it on the fan before it gets that hot.

Ok, since I haven't read that this has been done, have you checked your coolant level? Is your overflow bottle dry?

ya i checked the levels and all is good. i even checked the ohms of the sender unit. i will wire it up so i can just turn the fan on at will and if that dont work i may get a pusher fan to add on
