Don't paint the straps, it offsets the look of the tank soooo much more.

What kinda paint/process did you use ?

I sanded the tank down with 320 grit paper, wiped it of with a damp towel and just sprayed some Dupli-Color flat black on it. I put 3 coats on it so it would come out a little smoother. Then I sanded the straps with 200 grit, wiped them off and primed them, then gave them a shot of chrome.

Looks very nice man.

I usually just spray mine with Detailing spray after I wash my car, which gives it a nice shine, but yours looks great :thumb:

did you drop the tank down? or did you get up under the car and do all this?
Nope, I did everything under there. I just masked everything off with newspaper and painters tape to protect from overspray. I painted the tank itself first, then covered that and did the straps. I was thinking about taking pictures of the process but forgot.

What brand dressing do you use? And does it give it a flat or glossy shine?

Very Glossy, looks just like his painted one.

"Ardex Details"

Great product for inside and out.
