I'd be on edge too! Please don't paint your textured mirror's! If you're going to paint them then you will need to find some 94-95 mirror's which have a smooth finish, you can always pick up a smooth finish set cheap!

dont worry..that wasnt the original color unless ford two toned the engine bay and trunk area for kicks! lol :)..ive seen a couple of the burnt orange cars..but bein that the jamb on both fenders, engine bay and trunk were burgundy(idk the color..kinda like the redfire?)..i wouldnt mess up a rare car ;)..and im gonna look around at the junk yards for the mirrors..esp if i can find some powered ones..then i can swap em out as i please :)..i am so dmn giddy right now..been workin on it a couple hours a day on the weekends..and now its almost time..cant wait to see it in the sun with the fr500s :)

Won't the paint on the window switch things eventually crack? They seem like they are a little bendable and rubbery to me. Like maybe one day when you go to close your door, they stretch just a little too much and that paint will crack.

probably sounds stupid but i just got in the habbit of not touching them when closing the door, i either have the window down and hold the top of the door or if the window is up i grab the top plastic lip of the door pocket. but as far as flex goes, the front and rear bumpers on these cars flex a hell of a lot more than those switch panels do so i never even worried about it, i just don't want to scratch them up.

personally i think painting out mirrors looks better than the termi cobra mirrors. i like that the back plate is painted to match right up again the exterior A pillar, just looks better to me. that's why i posted the pic i did, shows that really well.

and 97ls i think the dark blue against a tan interior would be really beautiful, i say go for it. i personally borrowed the concept from Saleen mustangs and i have actually seen a tan interior with the blue switch plates and it looked amazing.

btw..if i could find a tan leather interior wed be in business..ive been thinkin about doin a rear seat delete and 2 racing seats with the harness bar as well..thats why id like a black interior so it all matches..but i still dont think itll look bad..since the top half of my int. is black and the rest is tan

it's a little more time but i got the impression you were painting your car yourself? if that is the case then i emplore you to go the extra mile. the devil really is in the details and it's things like that that will make your car appear to be more coherent overall, "the whole package" if you will, rather than something thrown together. at least that is my thoughts on it.

take US Soldier's car as another example of how good painted mirrors look
