are you using spray paint or real paint?

All I did was sand, mask the lip and tire, spray some primer, spray some paint, spray some clear lol. I was too lazy to wet sand in between.

Disclaimer, I can see my paint cracking under the clear when I get up real close. Probably from the heat and such.

Take the time to sand the wheels down before you paint them. Proper prep is the key no matter what. If you can find a shop or use an actual spray gun, you'll probably end up with better results. I had all 4 of my SRT wheels painted for under $200. I had them mostly sanded and ready to go, then finished stripping, primed, painted two-colors, and cleared. Not everyone's taste but better than stock or solid black IMHO on my car.

I don't think you will find a single person on here that would not agree that a neon is a hard car to make look cool.

If you are going to pay someone to do it I would take the dive, do it right and go with powder so you will know it will last.

Yea, the car is ugly as shit. I wanted to polish the rims but the metal quality under the multiple layers of paint was shit and I didn't want to go back stock and thats what I came up with.

When I had my car's work done, cousin/painter said to have them powder coated. Said that's just tougher & would last, longer than paint would. So, that's what I did!
