I've seen it done before but I didn't think it looked very good. Yours may be different but it doesn't contrast very well. 1k grit sand paper, prep primer and krylon should be good and a nice clear coat will get the job done. Good luck...

just my .02 but i dont like it that much, why not just go on and take it out??? On the flip , i got a white car and i would think that the "flag" pony would look good. What you all think??? On second thought the more i look at the black pony the more i like it... X out my first statement :drunk:

try some high temp engine paint etc in a spray can...just prep it really good and put multiple light coats and clear...practice on something else first.

Hmmm, nice. So exactly what would i need to do to "prep" the caliper? thanks dude and sorry for all the questions.

de-grease them, sand them etc...make them smooth before you paint and they will be smooth after.

So basically just use some oven cleaner on them to degreese and then "sand" then??? what kinda sand paper could you sand metal with?

On the calipers, I simply cleaned them real well, degreased them and painted them with Ford hi-temp engine enamel. I went with the light blue engine enamel. It's held up great over the years.

On the grill pony, I bought a used one off of eBay, scuffed it and painted it with 3 coats of gloss black and 3 coats of clear. I think it came out really good, from a show I was at today:
