OK, this is exhausting.. I need to replace my foam pads for my Porter Cable 7424, anyone have any recommendations?

I'm considering the Lake Country Kompressor 6" pads, anyone ever use them? Pros, cons? http://autogeek.net/lc-6inch-kompressor-pad-kit.html

What pads would you get? I'm thinking:

1 Yellow - Moderate Swirl/Scratch removal
2 Orange - Minor Swirl/Scratch removal
2 Green - Cleaner/Wax
1 Black - Sealant/Jeweling

I'm pretty stuck on the Green and Orange, it's the Yellow and Black that I'm not sure about.. Orange is already a pretty firm pad, do I really need to go a step further? Black isn't incredibly soft, but not really firm, should I go to red or gold instead? Should I just ditch the yellow/black and get two reds or golds?

Thanks for the help.

The Kompressor pads are mainly for rotary use.... They really dont work well on a PC.

I would go with either CH Hexlogic Pads or Lake Country CCS Pads. I would go with the Hex Logic pads because they are on sale on CG's website. I would recommend 5.5 pads because on a PC they can do more than a big pad. Mustangs have alot of small areas and not big panels.

as for pads, I would get Yellow, Orange, White, Blue Black. Those 5 should be good. I would get 2 orange and 2 black because they will be used alot.

Well, the only reason why I'm really looking @ Autogeek is because I have 15% off everything because of their "birthday" special and I need to get some other things as well.

I guess I'll just go with the CCS pads again like you said, that's what I originally got with my PC, but I had seen some good reviews for the Kompressor pads.

The compressor pads are really only made for rotary, Thats what the big size and flexing is all about. The PC doesnt have enough power to take advantage of the flexing action of the pads.

IMO, 4-5.5-6 inch pads is all you need.... anything bigger is overkill unless you are detailing a bus or something lol

OK, I went through my pads and I still have one Black and one Blue that are in good condition.

So:

1 Yellow
2 Orange
1 White
1 Black
1 Blue

That should be a pretty good setup, right? The red is "Too soft" from what I've read around the forums, correct?
