So, my trunk lock has been a ***** to open since i got the car (5+ years) and well before i got the car. I always opened the trunk from my glove box electric button. Well, i washed my car yesterday and my door locks froze up and my key wouldnt work on either door (passenger and driver). So, i brought some DE-icer for my doors and fixed my door problems. While i was at it with the doors i squirted some de icer into my trunk lock. Now, that lock wasnt frozen because its a ***** to open all year around (100+ degree summer weather also).

If you didnt know.. de icer is also a Lube for locks, so i guess it lubed my trunk lock up and now it open with they key SMOOTH as FREAKING BUTTER with no problem at all

Try it and let me know. You could

Yep, that was my problem also. I had to push my trunk down hard also to open. Now, i dont have to do anything but put the key in and turn. Just like cutting butter right out the microwave. Try it out. The de icer was only $1.79 @ autozone.

If you try, let me know if it solves your problem also.

I will let you know :thumb:

I guess you could try some WD40, if you still have the RED Straw that comes with the can. otherwise it might be a bitch to aim in there. I just like the de-icer because it fits right into the key hole :dancing6: WD40 should work since its thats what they suggested. I bet it will work for you also since the other guy in the thread linked in the original post had the same problem as us, but his went away also with some lube.

good luck

Cool! I can get my key in the lock but I think I've had the key turn in there a grand total of three times in six months. Will try the lock de-icer.

Lol, mine was fine for 9 years, then one day froze and never worked again, until I replaced it. But the Deicer usually works very well, it's worth a shot, because they are kind of a pain to replace.

Use them muscles man. Im just kidding. I cant even open my trunk from the side of the car. I have to go to the back of the car to lift it and than sometimes it falls back down and locks because its so tough to open lol. :crying:

I didn't have a trunk button, so when my lock failed I had to get in the trunk through the backseat and use a screwdriver :hammer:
