i met a guy at irwindale speedway that owned one of John Urist outlaw class cars. it was a 94-95 cobra that ran 7's or 8's dont remember. he traded it for a 7sec chevy nova :nonono: . anyways those are some realy nice cars. love the cobra O0

That was actually Dwayne's old 95 Cobra. John borrowed it from Dwayne and raced it for a season. It ran a best of 7.64 @ 185 or 187, something like that. I loved that car, wish Dwayne never sold it.

Yep. these pics were taken just outside of Bernallio. Hellion is located in Albuquerque.

Yeah it is! So many people mess with him because they just think it's an '05 with exhaust. That car gets it though, easily a 10 second car if there's traction.

It rained about 10 minutes before we got there, we caught the edge of the storm on our way up there, which sucked 'cause we had to clean all the cars again. The weirdest thing though, was that parking lot stayed wet the whole time we were there. It was so weird. When we got there, the place where we took the photos was bone dry, but this other lot was soaked. And it was still wet an hour and a half later. It was odd.

Yeah, I wanted the colors to be really bold, and a little over saturated, but I might have gotten a bit carried away on some of them.

I basically do all of Hellion's marketing stuff now. I built their new website, do banners, posters, and magazine ads for them, and answer some tech questions. I organized this photoshoot, and then created a poster for us from the pictures. Just anything that deals with marketing more or less goes through me.

dam thats fast. the driver said he ran a best of 5.1 at 152 or 153 at irwindale speedway (1/8 mile).

Yeah, that car seemed to work really well when John had it. When he drove it though, it was a blower car, similar to his current set up, and was a a lot faster than it was when they switched it to a turbo setup, right before it was sold. I think that guy still had the turbo setup on it. Funny thing, the guy that has the car now actually called the shop today to let us know that he had it, haha.

from what the guy told me, he traded the car straight across for the Nova that runs 7's,really nice car by the way. they ran the nova that day and it ran a 5.1 at 148mph and the front brakes were 1/4 of the way on, they caught on fire. they said the nova was capable of 4.80's at 150 plus (1/8 mile). by the way, do you know the mods on the 04 cobra and what numbers is it putting down.

I do know the mods to the '03, however, it's still under wraps at this time, so I can't say anything about it. Just know that it makes an UNGODLY amount of power with the stock motor.

We'll put it this way, it makes more power than any other street '03 Cobra you've ever heard of or seen. And it's also the highest HP numbers from a stock motored Cobra that we've ever heard of.

Hahaha, funny you should mention that car. That's Nate's car, he's our Cobra tech. That was the development car for our '03 Cobra turbo kits. he's done some more stuff to that car, and makes much more power than the previous 895 (he also made 917 hp at that same event later in the day). And yes, the 10th Anniversary Cobra makes more power than that one. By a lot.

Nate doesn't actually work down at the shop, he owns his own business, but he does answer all of our Cobra-specific tech questions. He also serves as John's crew chief during the season, and he's our "in house" tuner as well.
