hey guys, need some info here if you will. money permitting, i'm wanting to just replace my engine with a 99-04 pi engine next year. aside from maybe different sensor locations, everything should bolt up & run ok shouldn't it? the computer shouldn't be an issue i'm guessing...just gonna run the spark plug wires insted of the cop set up. any of you guys done this? thanks for your help...

I did it and your stock 98 ECU/wiring harness will work just fine. It'll bolt right up just like it belongs.

Yeah, unless you're gonna be using an engine that was attached to a standard trans. Then you'll need to reuse your flywheel. Other than that, the 2 coolant sensors will have to be swapped (left one to the right and vice-versa) and if you get a mid '01-04 motor the belt routing will be different because the water pump was shortened.
