PI Intake swap alt bracket problem

A little back story I bought the car a 96 GT with a cracked intake, and just called MHS and ordered the kit from them. I got it all put back together with only one problem. When I went to put on the alternator bracket so I could put the wires across it, it didn?t look right plus there was nowhere to put the wires. Should I just take the old bracket, and lay the new one under it and cut it to fit? Also any pictures would be great that away I can see what you are talking about. This 96 is a completely different animal than my old Fox body.

yeah, i ran into this problem too. basically, you have two choices:

1) modify the original bracket to make it work with the alternator and the PI manifold

or

2) mess with the fitment of the PI bracket to make it work with the alternator, but if you choose this route you lose the provisions for the wire looms (unless you want to drill holes to make the wire looms work).



remember that the PI mustangs never came with spark plug wires, so ford didnt take them into account when they designed the alternator bracket.

what i did was use the PI bracket, and just used the factory wire seperators and just have them hang out on top of the bracket, not really being secured down by anything. gave it the stock look without modifying anything.

I couldnt stand the OEM holders, they were so brittle plus didn't really fit my FRPP wires so I did this, took one set of billet wire holders, drilled one hole in the bottom of the holder, one in the alt bracket, then just bolted them together, ran the wires and secured the top piece in place

Thanks for the help. I wasn't seeing the forrest because of the trees. Tomorrow I will be cutting my old bracket to fit hopefully.

joekd where did you get your wire holders?
