wuts up guys in this quest to making my stang more beastly , im going to upgrade to a pi intake to accommodate my p&p heads better then the stock one. but my question is when i went to a local auto parts place (advance auto) they only had the intake with the pre-attached gaskets. i was wondering if any one has done the swap with one of these intakes, or should i just search more and find a regular one were the gaskets are not attached? :BangHead:

what do you mean by the pre attached gaskets? are they like the gasket that holds the lower intake to the plenum?

My advise, shop somewhere else

The intake I used was an actual Ford piece new in the box and no gaskets included

That's the Dorman intake... It wont work too well with a PI intake swap on NPI heads... The silicone you put on will leak...

Get an OEM FoMoCo PI intake(with alum. xover) and do the job that way.

Because you need to lay the silicone when the gasket is laying on the head... If you went with the Dorman intake then you wouldn't know how the surfaces mated/sealed after you lay the intake onto the heads/ports/water jackets...

Just trust us on this one... Buy a Ford intake.

I read about people using the Dorman for the pi swap and had no problems.

however, its a fact the dorman is crap when compared to the a ford intake in terms of performance.
