Yea, I already have a 150 shot of nitrous, and still have the plastic intake (not sure if it's PI or not). I've heard of these intakes giving up with nitrous. Is there a way to tell if you really have PI heads? Would you recommend ported PI heads or are there other companies that have even better PI heads? When you get the cams, do you need to order them for a PI or nPI?

The Typhoon was design to hold shot of NOS. To know if your heads are PI or not, you've got 2 choices:
1. Take out the intake and see the intake ports on the head, if they're fully rounded (Non-PI) if they're like squared shaped (PI)
2. Do a compression test (Non-Pi have 9.1) (Pi have 10.1-10.3)
With the heads it all depends on the machine shop that you have around. A pair of PI heads you can get them for $200-$300 used, you have to check out a good machine shop that ports heads and see how much they will charge U. Around where I live, theres a shop that port the PI heads for $500-$550, and its CNC Ported Stage.3 They do a great job, plus all stang heads have been ported with them around here because they know the type of work they do.
Or U can go with Patriot Heads, but you're looking at $1300 for St.2 and $1500 for St.3. Personally, i would recomend get a good used set and have them ported, unless the porting around your area is way to high, then don't.
Cams- Heres a BIG debate... You can use Non-PI or PI cams on PI heads. Comp cams have 3 stages for both:
Non-pi - 262h, 268h, 274h These go up to .500 of lift
Pi- 262ah, 270ah, 278ah These go up to .550 of lift
It al depends on what you're looking for, but remember that the higher you go, the power will reflect in the higher rpms. For me, I took the 274h, these are St.3 for Non-PI heads, but have more duration than the St.2 for PI. Plus, I don't have to deal with a PTV problem, when people have put on St.2 PI cams and have had their valves hit the pistons. Plus they work perfectly opening up their power at 4000 rpms
until 6600 rpms. Basically, you can play around with what type of cams you want.
If U check, there is a topic around here about the 300rwhp mark. There are around 4 of use that almost have the same set up going down, specially with the cams. :thumb:
