I have a 4.6 that I am boring .030 over and I want to know what type or pistons to go with for nitrous. Where should I get the pistons from? Also this is on a budget so as cheap as possible(saving money for bigger cubes).

Nothing cheap about aftermarket 4.6 pistons...

Manley, Mahle,CP,Diamond are all good brands making them.

Are you going with a high compression nitrous setup?

I do plan to do nitrous but I dont know what it a good compression for that. I think I remeber hearing anything 10:1 and below for a streetable motor. So are flat top pistons to high? and what will the compression be after that?

Flat top pistons and PI heads will be 12.5:1 Compression. It is streetable but you have to crank the timing down for street use.

With NPI heads you will be around 11.:1 compression which you should be able to run no problem on 93 octane fuel.

If you are gonna be spraying I would recommend getting forged rods also. You probably won't find any .030 pistons for sale. You gonna have to buy them new.

I have a set of brand new manley flat top pistons with rings that are for sale. I will let them go for 600+ shipping you wont get a better deal than that for some brand new stuff.

Why are your boring it .030 over? 11:1 will run fine on the street, but you will want good rod's and bolt's as well.

I have already done a lot of work to my heads (all my self, little money spent), and I am not really planning on spending too too much on this motor because I know that 2v are dogs. I just want to get some pistons and put a good squeeze on it and call it a day.

most people bore them .20 over. Thin sidewalls...

idk much about mod motors... but I'm surprised no one has said that.

I've heard that a 2o over would unshroud the valves and make a bit more power... not 100% though.

Anything over always unshrouds the valves, not enough to matter though. bore as little as you can.
