I do plan to do nitrous but I dont know what it a good compression for that. I think I remeber hearing anything 10:1 and below for a streetable motor. So are flat top pistons to high? and what will the compression be after that?DropTopPony said:Nothing cheap about aftermarket 4.6 pistons...
Manley, Mahle,CP,Diamond are all good brands making them.
Are you going with a high compression nitrous setup?

Flat top pistons and PI heads will be 12.5:1 Compression. It is streetable but you have to crank the timing down for street use.
With NPI heads you will be around 11.:1 compression which you should be able to run no problem on 93 octane fuel.

I have already done a lot of work to my heads (all my self, little money spent), and I am not really planning on spending too too much on this motor because I know that 2v are dogs. I just want to get some pistons and put a good squeeze on it and call it a day.voidfinger said:yea a 11:1 cr nitros set up would be killer.. but get that 11:1 threw a pi head... don't waist time and money on the npi stuff... trust me.
J.R. said:Why are your boring it .030 over? 11:1 will run fine on the street, but you will want good rod's and bolt's as well.
Yah I think I have changed my mind on that I dont think I am going to bore it.Turd Ferguson said:most people bore them .20 over. Thin sidewalls...
idk much about mod motors... but I'm surprised no one has said that.
