Ok heres the deal i have 1998 mustang. It had a very light smack on the passengers side when i bought it. It runs and drives great and i replaced the dented fender and cracked hood. NOTHING major. Now the other day it started making this poping noise when i drive coming from the front pasenger side . I cant figure it out. It is rather random and sometimes doesnt do it at all. I dont believe it has anything to do with the fender bender since it didnt do it up until the other day. it sounds like something is loose and moves when im driving ocasinally. What should i check and how? thanks

Between the manual key lock and the actuated remote lock there is a metal rod that connects the two. It has a "C" clip on it. If it comes off, and they do very easily, the rod bangs around in there. You can hear it best when you close the door. That may be it.

We need a lot more information to even begin to help you, we're not psychic.

Is it when the car is running and driving, like a suspension noise, or is it when you're sitting still or the car is parked, like a body noise? If it's when the car is running, is it at idle, does it increase with rpm, does it do it when turning left or right, over bumps, what speed, etc?

well i might have figured it out. It was only doing it when i actually drove and it didnt matter about bumps/ shifting/ or turning. it was rather random and odd. Now the other day i had the hood opened and noticed that the cold air intake kit the last owner installed was just laying in there moving around at free will....so i moved it around and havent heard it since. im going to have to make a permenat brace for it i guess....i hope that was it, but like i said havent heard it since. thanks
