I did a fancy pi swap (victor jr intake, fuel rails, 450 wet kit blah blah) and the first trip to the dyno I had valve contact pistons. Those cams came out, new valves went in, and second trip to the dyno she spun a bearing. Tried to put new bearings in but still having engine noise. I have an extra shortblock so that goes in tomorrow and am I just having bad luck or is there something about the pi swap I am missing. I thought tuning it would be a good thing and it is eating motors. I did not even spray. Cross your fingers for my next try because I dont know what is going wrong.

If you spun a bearing, and did not have your crank checked, that could be your engine noise. You could have done damage to the block or the crank.

Did you check your pistons from the valve contact. You could have also done damage to the pistons. A visual check in both cases are not good enough IMO.

We pulled cams and went with pi stockers. The cams were degreed when they made contact apparently these cant be used on a pi swapped combo (some will argue against this but mine made contact at redline and bent a few valves). All the vcalves were replaced.

Pistons seemed ok but I think the crank is damaged. I picked up a shortbock a few days ago (guy was selling it for 120 bucks) just as a backup. It appears to be ok the bearings are nice and smooth. If this does not work I am going to be down for a while. I will wait on a forged setup. I will post results after the next dyno session
