Dont quote me on this but I'm pretty sure they built more 6.0s than 7.3s. So finding one in the truck you really want could be a problem.

no there are more 7.3s on the road then any other diesel ...


6.0 mods

CAI
SCT w/ custom tunes
Exhaust
egr delete (or bullet proof replacements)
bullet proof oil cooler
head studs

and youll be set ....the egr del kits are like 200 bucks (get the deletes not the block off plates)
oil coolers idk the price, headstuds thats a fun one ....

I think Im stuck on a Cummins right now, the 7.3 owners are wanting way too much right now for older trucks.

You can find good deals on 6.0Ls if you're willing to drop some cash and do some work from the get go. ARP studs, new headgaskets, EGR delete, and a new oil cooler topped off with a very through coolant flush and you'll hbe a strong ass reliable truck. I did a shit ton of research on them because I came close to having one and a stock 6.0L feels a lot like a slightly modded 7.3l. My 7.3l had a bully dog tuner, 4" turbo back exhaust, boost fooler, and 33's and I could get around 18mpg with it set to the "extreme" setting on the highway so long as I didn't smoke out the road. ;)
