Option A or Option B? Want a smoother look so I'm considering B. Never cared for the factory scoop, just looks tacked on like an afterthought.

Option A, my car

Option B, 2000 V6 (For comparison purposes)

I have a few guys interested in swapping V6 hoods but now I'm having a hard time with it. Mostly because when I sell the car, the question of it was hit and not fixed correctly will come up.

Cool idea but the problem is then you'd have to deal with water somehow. It would be awesome to make it function like a dragster and have it open with the throttle

I like how the 99/01 cobra - 03/04 v6 hoods look. It gets rid of the scoop but still keeps a stock look

That's what I would prefer. Has a slight dome around the scoop to put some life into that flat hood.

I think if you could trade for a "cobra hood" from a v6 there wouldnt be as big of an issue if you tried to sell it

I like the terminator hoods myself. But I'm sure you'd have to deal with the 'melvins' because it's not a Termi.

The V6 hood you posted 1st is just too plane-jane, the GT hood I think looks good, even with the fake scoop. The 99/01 Cobra hood looks good too, they've grown on me. Very clean lines.

I hated the GT fake-a-scoop hood also. I have a Saleen S281 hood now, which is just a 6'r hood. Love the 01 Cobra hoods, looked for one forever, but no luck.

think this looks much cleaner than the fake-a-scoop

Figure that hood with a black decal insert, and I'll be sitting pretty. I'm going to repaint the wheels in the spring, not sure of color yet.

Like I said earlier, I'm open to ideas on the functioning scoop. But for a DD what would you do about rain/snow? Keep mind I have the ridiculously moisture-sensitive COP ignition so that's a concern. Do you know of anyone who has done it?

(You can't even wash the COP motors without most likely picking up a misfire)

Ok I did some research...

- The factory scoop is mounted fairly cheaply to the hood and people have had the scoop fly off at higher speed after doing this mod
- At higher speeds the hood itself will lift to some degree
- Generally agreed upon that it's just not a good idea

The function or non-function don't mean shit. I wouldn't make it functional, for what? So you can tell people at the car show it's functional?

I'd do a Mach 1 style shaker, looks good and it's engineered to work.

Chalk it up to:
fake side scoops
fake brake cooling duct holes
fake rear diffuser looking thing
