well about couple weeks ago my car was acting up on me. it would go up to 4000rpm an then sputter like crap (had my foot all the way down to make sure i didnt like and it didnt do anything) then after that my car got worser, it started to do it a 2000rpm. the next day i put in new spark plugs, cap an rotor and fuel filter. it seem it fix it. it didnt do anything until the other night. I took it to checker to check the engine light and all it say was poor egr(egr is not hook up) and cylinder 8. so does anyone know what could be the problem? it really sucks, someone told me to check the injectors could they be right?

I had a problem like that before. I would hold the pedal to the floor and it revved to about 3500 and spit and sputtered. It wouldnt rev any higher than that. It turned out to be the MAF sensor

I would pull the #8 spark plug and make sure nothing crazy is going with that, maybe number 8 injector is not putting gas out or something.

well i clean the maf sensor and it didnot help at all, an i also check the ohms on the injectors and they all read 15 ohms, well my buddy call one of his 5.0 buddys and he said it might be the igniton control module. so i went to the salvage yard an got one out of a ford full size van and that didnot help at all. it is getting on my nevres, its getting worser and worser, i lost to a mini van early today(i couldnot go over 2grand, it would spit and sputter and backfire) anyone got any other ideas

How old are the plug wires? If you have a garage, do the dark garage check trick.

Leave the car running in the garage and get it completely black in there and see if you can see the sparks running thru the wires. If so, replace them. But if they are originals or you can't remember the last time you replaced them, just pull them off and get new ones.
If that doesn't work go over to Rockauto.com and order up a pair of 02 sensors because the first symptom you described where the car wouldn't rev and would sputter with the pedal all the way down sounds like what my Cobra used to do when I first got it.

That happened to me once and I had blown the air tube off the bottom of my SCer. Make sure your air lines are all good.

you really need to pull the codes. a haynes manual can tell you how to do it with a paper clip . even though the cel is off the puter still stores the code

Ok...sounds like you're on the right track.
Get hold of a code reader and if you get any code that has to do with the 02s, replace them both.
Rockauto.com has a model that sells for 21 bucks each, plus shipping.

well i went to checker an the only code it pull up was the low evap system (no egr) but the stang never starts right up, i would have to click it over couple times to let the fuel pump prime it. so im thinking 1quk50 is right. but i will see what the pressure is

Pressure should be good... the real factor is how soon the pump bleeds down after you turn the car off.
It should hold a while. If it immediately starts going down the pump is probably bad.

BTW, is it a stock pump? if so, just go ahead and change it. Its time...

havenot got it fix, i have been busy for the past week trying to find a job. so its still doing it but even worst. I would have to prime it ten or even more to just get it start. it wont go past 2 grand, even if i WOT it, it would just wont go up anymore rpms. So i got to figure it out, really dont have anymoney at the moment probably like hundred bucks an i get paid in couple weeks. so what do you guys think it is? I check the o2 sensors an they look ok. Some one told me its probably some relay behind your alternator, most others tell me that its fuel pump problems

plug the spout connector under the CAI its a little grey plug. start the car then plug it back in. My little cousins stang did the same thing. that might be it.

it is starting to sound like an ignition prob. you should be able to test the coil in your garage ( haynes manual has the procedure) it could also be the dizzy (lift your dizzy cap and look for black powder crud in the bottom that's a sign the bearings are worn on the pip
