That, along with the ash tray springs breaking starts a list of common problem in any Fox Body. They sell pin and bushing kits in just about every mustang magazine that I've ever seen. Look in 50resto and muscle mustangs and fast fords. Yeah, they are a pain to swap out, but they will make things line up a lot better than they are doing now I'm guessing. Have someone help you out, the doors are pretty heavy.

yeah, i had looked in muscle mustang and 5.0 resto, i have the replacement (it came with the car)
and we got to looking at it and the replacement pin and bushings look no where near the size of
the original pin, but this is only eyeballing it not actual measuring. but yeah i feel your pain about the ashtray spring as well. LOL, but with this project thats the least of my worries. so any ideas what i bang it out with, a buddy and I tried that route, and to no avale. thanks alot ya'll.

I rested the bottom of the door on a padded jack stand and had someone hold the door so it wouldn't flip outward while I beat on th pins. You really can't get to the pins with a hammer, so you're going to have to get a bar to hold against the pin while you hit the bar. I found what worked the best for me was a pair of channel lock pliers. Put the upper jaw of the pliers against part of the hinge and the bottom jaw against the bottom of the pin and squeeze. It will start to move out, just keep doing this over and over and then it will come out pretty quickly. Use the same sort of process to get the new one back in.
