Problems... need help.

So I installed my new 24# calibrated MAF (the PO put on 24s but not a calibrated MAF, and I'm just now getting around to it :dontknow: ) today. I figured it'd help with a lot of the problems with the car (trying rreealllyy hard to die when stopping. sputtering, cutting out in high rpms OCCASIONALLY, running super super super rich on startups sometimes) because they seemed like it could be that the car wasn't giving it the right amount of gas (due to the wrong MAF). So I swapped them out, no big deal, and took off to my mom's business to see what it was like. Car seemed to run smoother and idle a hair bit better, but it wasn't long before the car started screwing up again. I bought a 3M cleaning system from Oreillys and ahve ran it. No luck... I'm going to clean the IAC next and see if that helps. I'm thinking this might be an ignition issue? No idea. I want this fixed ASAP. I thought the MAF would cure it but afraid not. I'm at a lost. Any help would be appreciated fellas.

What's your timing set at?

No idea. I've never touched it. I've tryed running different grades of fuel, thinking that maybe the PO set it up higher, but its never helped.

Here's how tonight panned out. I got off here, went outside, removed my TB and IAC and cleaned them both. I ran out of TB Cleaner, but I got them fairly clean. Put everything back together, started it up and it purred great. I let it idle for a few minutes then I went to town. It drove real good on the way. Ran smooth, pulled hard, was great. I thought I had it. So then I went to the local Home Depot and looked at A/C units. I was in there maybe 5 minutes before going out to the car and moving it next door to Walmart. Went in and bought an A/C unit there and was in there nearly 30mins due to problems with the checkout. Came back out, loaded up and it ran fine. I drove around town a little and then pulled into a gas station and got a drink. Went back out to it, got in, fired it up and went to pull out... Then I left the lot and it fell hard on its face around 3000rpms and I had to really give it gas to keep it moving. I let it coast and revved it a little bit and sorta sat tbere doing that for a few seconds and took off again and it cleared up. I don't know if it was smoking, I couldn't look. There was traffic and my car was trying to get me killed.I drove bback throgh town and stopped at Autozone and ran in and grabbed some more TB cleaner and when I came out it had the same problem. MAybe its heat related? No idea but this is getting old -.-

how old is the plugs and wires, and d-cap? 1 may be broken or chaffed and shorting out.

I had a Dodge Dynasty do the same thing to me years ago. I tried everything from even putting in a new fuel pump. Come to find out, it was the ignition switch the entire time causing the fuel pump to cut out at times. Would fall flat on its face then all of a sudden take off like a rocket. Just some food for thought.

I don't know the age of th plugs and wires. I'm guessing a real good tuneup is in order. I'm going to go buy some parts and head to my friends this weekend so her dad can help me out and get the timing and all that set good. I'll let yall know how it goes

Fuel filter, sparkplugs, and wires are on their way.

It has a new airfilter and relatively new cap/rotor and coil so I should be good to go once the stuff arrives.
