Diffrential will be in by tomorrow. all is good.. bought cable, adjuster for the clutch yesterday

So far transmission wise I got

2004 Mustang GT trans
8-bolt flywheel
shifter
shifter boot
Shifter rubber
clutch cable
firewall adjuster
clutch quadrant

only peices missing are the Clutch and driveshaft..
whos got aluminum cheap drive shafts ?
which clutch is the best for hard launchs .. I want the Mustang to pop a wheelie at the track.

Re: Project '' The Hooker ''

Here is the latest update so far..

Got the engine bay painted.. Ready to work on.

K-member installed   not that hard  I give it 3 from 5  which 5 is the hardest..

A-arms installed  4 from 5..

in process ( Installing maximum motorsports camber plates.. ) too much work complicated and I rate 4 from 5.

After the spndles are installed I will install the brakes and the front struts.. I wont be installing the fron sway bar..

a tiny request to people who installed the UPR k-member and A-arms..   can you post pictures or the setup please ? the stock arms used to have springs.. now the upr one has no place to install the springs.  so what to do instead ?

A lot of guys like the Spec clutch for drag launches. I bought one for that reason and for the power rating, but took it off because it chatters when you'r taking off slow and mellow. and i just hate rattles.

It is for sale if you want to look at it. it's sthe Spec 3+ with flywheel, I also have the bellhousing that is Rated.
let me know if you want to see and I'll get you some pics.

Otherwise, very nice work.
it's rewarding to go through and see how everything fits together on your car.
Keep up the nice Pix.

Re: Project '' The Hooker '' Updated 1/16/09

Well, I didnt work on alot today since it was all about getting some parts here and there..

I installed the MMS caster camber plates..

I wanted to install the coilovers on the lakewood struts but came across a problem

Difrential arrived today from sand blasting.. since it wsa raining all night long the dumbas dude had it outside which it got a teeni tiny layer of rust ..

I sanded the rust away and painted it rust stop spray paint of 2 layers.. and a teeni tiny clear coat layer will be on top if needed tomorrow.

my brothers SLR camera arrived too so some pics will be better looking later on .. dont ask me what camera it is I will post pics of it lol

And now I leave you with todays progress and after the pictures I have questions that needs to be answered.

IMG_2023.jpg

Sexy huh ?

IMG_2031.jpg

And the diffrential arrived...

Let me post a pic of it BEFORE..

10 mins after it arrived

IMG_2029.jpg

25 mins after it arrived

IMG_2042.jpg

30 mins after it arrived

here is the pictures of the coilover with struts ready to be installed

IMG_2021.jpg

the problem am facing is that I can't install the coilovers on the struts because of this

IMG_2047-1.jpg

IMG_2048-1.jpg

Dalamar I know you went through this can you please help ? also is there any good informative link that helps me in adjusting the camber plates ?

Re: Project '' The Hooker '' Updated 1/16/09

what would i have to do for you to sell me those side view mirrors?

and all you need to do to get the coilover to work, is to put the strut in a vice, and wedge a large flathead screwdriver under that lip, and hammer it around. continue the process all the way around it and it will pop off, and you are ready to install the coilover...

Any idea of someone who did a project like mine ? there will be few questions..

also any site that helps me understand adjusting my Camber plates ? cuz the instructions suck..

Difretial will be out tommorow for axle, lsd, and gears installation.. once its back I will install it and the car will get baclk on wheels..

Once your done with the suspension you will want to get the car aligned.
This thread has good links to suspension sources, and info.

Re: Project '' The Hooker '' Updated 1/16/09

Fine, Since I haven';t worked I made a list of what I will be needing for the installation and everything to be done..

There are few parts that I am not asure off.. Ofcourse this will be a street car too but not daily driven..

Let me start with what i Am sure to get..

MGW 04 short throw shifter
spec stg 3+ clutch with 8 bolt aluminum flywheel with heavy pressure plate ( DALAMAR CHECK UR PM)
04 Aluminum driveshaft
A/C delete freeplay pully kit ( 4.6L )
lightweight brake calipers + drums
few 05+ electronic switchs ( not in mood for cutting and soldering on this project )
External dual fuel pumps

as for not sure..

I am thinking of converting the steering rack to manual .. which will shave over 30lbs of the front.. what does everyone think ? will I be able to drive it on streets ?

also I need the upper diffrential bushings.. ( where the upper control arm goes on the diffrential ) Where can I find them ?

this is it.. guys I really need ur help ..

95 mustang wiring diagram is also needed.. thanks..

Re: Project '' The Hooker '' Updated 1/16/09

sorry, i'll get back to you on that. Been busy with work and calendar and family stuff!

One suggestion, I had a T-rex external fuel pump. it whined so loud I hated it.
I'd suggest Walburo in tank pump, works good and is quite.

the problem is that I will be still using the v6 tank.. unless I really have to change to the v8
