Been a while since I poked my head in the door. Major status updates for those of you not watching actively:

Bought a new nitrous kit for the 5.4. Bought a 2nd stage nitrous hit for the 5.4. Bought a LIGHTNING blower setup for the 5.4.

You can see tons of new pics at my website, www.54stangs.comhttp:// or www.squarerootofone.comhttp:// (same site, different URLs). Right now I'm still working on the fuel system and getting the intercooler put together how I want it. Should be a bunch of fun.

Thoughts?

hood? clear? bwahahahahahah no chance. It'll never clear a hood. I'm considering a 6" window length pin-on and dzus fasteners. I may have to sell my R hood and get a lift-off hood, or I could and probably will get a saw and cut a hole in the hood. It's ok though... it'll look a little wonky but it'll make good power.

I seen it done in your car witha 6 inch pin on and the guy still had to make a little cut to clear the very top of the plenum.

BtW Its looking good im not a fan of how its painted but it still looks good either way.

Are you going to run the stock lighting crank pully? And if you need a intake elbow i have the stock lighting one im not using just let me know.
What are you going to do about the fuel rail brackets? I ended up buying the lightning specific rails and they work great.

Here is a pic of mine a week or so ago.I dont have a recent pic but the hole is a tad bigger and the air intake tube etc is on now.

Just have to order some -8 braided line and im going with black anodised summit fittings. And a nice fuel regulator and im going ot be close to Done

using a stock lower and upper L pulley set for the blower. I'm probably going to have to buy a set of aftermarket L rails. I'm having a bit of an issue with the FPS hitting the manifold. 99+ cars are a little different in the fuel rail and it's not so easy a switch. So far I've just flipped the rails to opposite sides and I figure I'll extend the sensor wire. The whole fuel system is getting a bit of a re-do though. It may come to the point of just putting a return style system in.

Hey 330: could you send me a template for the hood cut from yours? I'll send a SASE and a 5er for the effort. That'd save me HOURS of taping and measuring and re-taping.

If all you realy want is the shape i could lay somthing on the inside of my hood and trace it out, i have the peice i cut out but i had to shave a little off after the the first cut out and i kinda free handed the sport for the CAI. i can get you a updated picture and show you what the hole looks like now with the CAI installed.Only thing i did on mine that i did not like is a cut out a little more then i needed in from of the blower pully.

Check out RPM Outlet i got there Lightinng Gen X Big Bore 5/8 Rails for $92 Shipped

I did not see this untill just now.Shoot me a PM When you get back on.The more i look at it idk if you can use my genral shape i have cutout.I had to take more out of the hood this past weekend and i actually cut out part of the scoop.
Since our hoods are so much diffrent i think there are some things i have cut out that you might not have to.Are you going to keep that cobra r type hood you have?

I'm going to probably use the R hood but I'm mostly interested in not playing the 3 hours of trial and error you had to. The basic shape of the template will get me really close. Out hood profiles are pretty close though. The R hood is just a stylized 2.5" cowl hood.

Got my methanol kit (alky-control with progressive controller), throttle body and alternator. Pulled out the speakers and stuff from the trunk, removed all the rear interior panels. Tomorrow I'm going to start plumbing and mounting all the bits and pieces. After I get all the parts mounted I'll begin the wiring work for the blower setup. Now that all the really hard parts are done the project should move quicker. It's been a bitch planning out the location of all the tanks and pumps and crud. Installs this weekend are going to be for the methanol, fire system, nitrous system, battery relocation, fuel pump, pump controller and a relay board for all the electronics.

I picked up an Aeromotive A1000, FPR and controller so I think I'll be switching over to a return style fuel system for ease of use.
