question on front struts

I am replacing the fronts struts on my 95gt with foxbody ones. I am using Koni Yellows. In the box they came in there were two plastic washers. Any idea where these go and what they do? My rear shocks also had a plastic lock washer on the cylinder but I figured that was there for shipping purposes so I took those off. Any ideas?

my guess would be on the strut under the CC plate, and one on the shaft after the strut has gone through the CC plate. Then the nut on top of that. That is of course assuming the washers are the correct size
