Questions about radiators

Why is there one radiator option for 96 gt's and one option for 97-04 gt's? i know there are some differences in size, but what else?
can someone shed some light.

The 96 sucked! They revised the radiator and fan assembly on 97 to help with the overheating issues. I think they have different connector locations. Its supposed to be an easy swap. I went with a Fluidyne.

ive noticed that the 96 also has a little adapter thing on the side that the 97+ doesnt.


will a 03 cobra fit into a 96?

On top, the 96's has a bracket sticking out on the passenger's side. Also the mounting tube in the bottom are farder apart in the 96 than in the 97. So, the 97 wont fit easily iin a 96. I bought a 97 mishimoto and I had to cut one of the tubes on bottom to get them closer. I dont have to worry about the brackets on top as the new radiator is wide enough and it doesn't move at all.
