I have slp lm1's dumped, they're dumped straight at the ground. It sounds good at higher RPMs but at lower ones it sounds choppy, could it be because the turndowns are soo close to the ground? If I just take the turndowns off will it be a different sound? I dont care if it's louder in the car or louder in general, loud pipes save lives, but will it change it to where it isn't as choppy?

Face the turn down toward the rear tires instead of straight at the ground. At lower rpm you are hearing the echo off the ground

So turn them outwards? Like towards the side of the car? What about just cutting them off at the end of the muffler?

My SLP pipes used to come loose all the time right at the muffler and you could hear a serious sound differnce, very mellow and bubbly sounding. I really think you would like the way it sounds if you had tailpipes on it.

See...I personally like the sound, it's loud, but I dont think it sounds horrible. It gave me the sound I wanted, it's a smooth sound and has a nice idle sound. I dont have the money to buy new tailpipes right now that's why they were dumped

Yeah, I have an o/r x-pipe...I think it has a smoother sound in the higher RPMs. My dad has an o/r h-pipe with flows and his is a rougher sound than mine and Im pretty much straight piped, lol

Do you have them welded? If they are not welded just turn them a little bit so they are not face straight at the ground or just take them off and see if it makes a difference, which it should

I may try with just taking them off first, if it doesnt make a difference I may turn them to the side.
Thanks for the help
