quick tranny question

Hey all, ive got a normal 96 gt with the 5speed in it. It committed suicide about a month ago now, and I was just wondering what the input shaft spline count was. There is a wrecker in the town I'm working in for the summer with a tranny out of a 97 pacecar, and he says that there were two different spline counts for these years. That I was unaware of. Anyways, I was just wondering if there is an easy way to check what mine is, or if they should all be the same. Thanks in advance!

Yours should be a 10 spline. The only other option is 26 but I would surprised if that pace car doesnt have a normal t45 in it.

I too would be shocked if the pace car was anything other than a 10 spline, as well....

Like the guys said its highly unlikely it's a 26 spline input shaft like a tko or tremec 3550 etc

okey doke. The things basically got no miles on it, and i can get it for basically free soo. I've been waiting for this day for about 3 years haha. My bad luck has finally payed off into something amazing im hoping. Another quicky, this thing may have been sitting for a while, is there anything I should do with it before hand? before a fluid flush, any way to "break it in" so to speak? Sorry for my terrible grammar, im just getting off my night shift heh.
