Rad/fan cash light on

It's on at startup, goes off then comes back on... Was not on previous to washing the engine b at last week.. Have pulled the connector on the reserve tank and cleaned it with contact spray.. Still same symptom. Should be dried out by now after a week... Still trying to rectify.
